A couple weeks ago, Grayson got to be the ring bearer for some friends' wedding. The groom, Matt, was Grayson's K pastor last year at church, and the bride, Crys, works with my Chris in the worship department. So not only was Grayson in the wedding, but Chris was asked to officiate at the wedding, so we got to have some time with just Grayson! We went to the rehearsal, dinner, and of course the wedding, and on the way I told Chris I think it's the only time other than bringing him home from the hospital when the two of us have been alone with just Gray! That's the burden of being the middle child :)
The groom knows Grayson well, and so he had cuff links made just for him: they were Lego Darth Vader groom figurines! One was incorporated into the flowers on his tux, and Matt gave the other one to me for safekeeping. I promised (bribed) Grayson that if he behaved coming up the aisle, he could have the second cuff link, but then I reneged and put them in my shadowbox for safekeeping. I'm pretty sure he'd swap out all the parts, and I'd have a Darth-Anakin-Count Somebody figurine left!

He was super excited about his tux. Grayson loves to dress up, and he thought his tux and shiny shoes were amazing. I thought he'd complain, but he loved it and was sad when I returned it!
Walking with Daddy and the groom to the wedding.
The wedding was outdoors at sunset, so we took the pictures before, but it was so pretty out there! Perfect colors for a fall wedding!
He also loved his pillow because it had two fake silver rings tied to it. As soon as we got home he snipped them off the pillow and put them on his index fingers, "because they're magic rings that take me to LegoWorld." He's like a squirrel; he loves everything shiny or gadgety!
It was so fun to see my handsome men in the wedding! Caiden was my brother's ring bearer, and Addie was our babysitter Kristina's flower girl, so now that the trio is complete, I have a sweet set of photos to put in my family room! I'll hold onto those cuff links, too--I wouldn't be at all surprised to have Grayson ask me in about 20 years if I know where they are, when
he's the groom!
Oh, I LOVE that idea, handing them down to his son to use someday. He looks so handsome, and I bet you were super proud of him walking down the aisle all grown up.
