A Winter Sabbath

I've been trying to ignore it, but one look at my calendar makes it impossible--we are busy lately!  If you know me, you'll know that I try not to use the "b" word, since everybody's busy, and you'll also know that I try not to be busy.  I like a lot of margins in our time.

But lately we've been cram-packed with things going on--entertaining guests, working on the great room remodel, keeping up with the leaves that are falling down in massive amounts daily (Going from two tiny trees to several acres of mature ones is an adjustment!), school, ministry at church, sewing and painting projects.  Some of it is self-induced, but a lot of it is just what needs to be done lately, and I'm feeling a little squished!

So I'm taking a winter sabbath from a few things, and I think blogging has to be one of them.  My nightstand is full of books I want to read, Christmas is on the horizon, and I'm helping with a new ministry to moms of preschoolers, so something has to go.

Thank you to everyone who leaves such sweet, thoughtful comments here, and I hope your holidays are beautiful and bright!  Enjoy the rest of the year, and I'll see you back sometime afterward.  Blessings!

A Prayer Request

I've been following Ashley Adams' story of her triple organ transplant and slow recovery, for the past two years.  Tonight her mom, Trish, posted a prayer request.  If you've been praying for Ashley, will you hop over here to read tonight's request?  And if you're never read her story before, it's an amazing one.  Join me tonight in praying for this precious family!
