Works-for-Me Wednesday

I love pictures of my family, but after contemplating paying sitting fees, the cost for the actual portraits, and then the extortion-type prices for frames, I just can't bring myself to do this more than once a year.

Not to mention the fact that I should be the one getting paid for dragging my three children, in their Sunday best, to a studio and trying to get them all to smile at the same time, and look at the camera, and not cry or pinch each other or pick their noses.

So this is what I did: I called a good friend of our family who has a photography degree and promised him and his wife dinner if he'd come over and take pictures of Addison. And you know what? He actually agreed!

So not only did I get about a hundred shots that he's going to later edit and fix with all of his computer/techy/photographer knowledge, I didn't have to take Addison anywhere, and I didn't have to explain to a complete stranger why my 12 week old daughter not only has a feathered tiara, but shoes to match. On top of that, I got to have dinner with one of my closest friends and her husband and son. And all I had to do was call my husband and ask him to pick up dinner on the way home. Now if I could only figure out how to get Addison to smile next time.

The next time I need a specialized service, I'm going to think about who I know who will work for food. This works for me!

Thank you, Chris and Brittani. You're the best:)
