I'm a serious girly-girl, but because I've had two boys before I had a girl, I've been woefully lacking in baby girl paraphernalia. Since there are no big sisters to pass things down, I've had to buy a mini cheerleading outfit (for Halloween, of course), butterfly wings, and tiaras for Addison. Because those are necessities, you know. (Even my husband didn't blink an eye when I came home with the cheerleading outfit and wings. He seemed to inately understand the need for them. That's why I married this man--he's good like that!)
Anyway, a new friend I've met through blogging recently asked me if I'd like her little girl's bows she can no longer wear. Then she emailed back and said she would make Addison a few, too.
A few? A few? She sent me THIRTY-ONE BOWS!! Thirty-one! (Yes, I really did spread them out and count them. I'm OCD like that.) There are gingham bows, velvet bows, casual-wear bows, dress-up bows, bow sets for when Addison has enough hair for pigtails. I am in Bow Heaven. Little Girl Heaven. Adorable-outfit-with-matching-socks-shoes-bow-blanket Heaven.
Here's one Addison wore to the doctor today--and let me tell you, we got comments and compliments all over the hospital. Nothing like a bow that matches the outfit that matches the blanket that matches the socks that matches the carseat. I'm out of control, I realize that. I'm beyond hope, really, but that's okay with me:)
So thank you, sweet friend. You know who you are--and I'm not about to give out your name; I don't want bloggers inundating you for bow requests!! But thank you; your generosity was a sweet gift on a difficult day!
*In case you thought I was holding up well under stress, I'm admitting that I wrote "unindating" in the above paragraph at first--and didn't realize it until just now, hours later. And even when I did, I had to ask which was the right word. My brain? Fried. :)
